    Emission Reduction Through District Heating Improvements

    Participants

    Project Activities

    		- installed/upgraded heat exchangers
    		- upgraded internal heating systems of users and installed thermostatic radiator valves
    		- installed SCADA system for network
    		- reduction in fuel use and electricity consumption 
    		- replaced four boiler houses with group heat exchangers
    		- upgraded four existing heat exchanger substations and provided equipment for 
    			85 new heat exchanger stations
    		- upgraded internal heating systems of users and installed thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs)

    Extension and Improvement of Central Station District Heating

    Participants

    Project Activities

    		- connected 33 facilities at twenty-six sites, allowing retirement of 40.8 MW of 
    			coal-fired boilers
    		- coal consumption reduced by more than 13,000 metric tons per year
    		- abatement costs of $4,098 per ton of total emissions
    		- MPEC established Customer Service office
    		- provided audit training to MPEC to allow MPEC to offer additional services to customers

  • Project Activities

  • Introduction to the Polish market of LSR's Core Separator particulate collector. The Core Separator has high capture efficiency and it's low cost, simplicity, and reliability make it attractive to the Polish conditions.
